Lochinvar TiSUN Announces Commercial Solar Thermal Systems
We are pleased to announce the release of Lochinvar's complete line of Commercial Solar Thermal Products. Lochinvar is introducing six different Solar Thermal Collectors. These collectors are available as SCH Commercial collectors and Light Duty SLV or SLH collectors. The SLH/SLV collectors feature 27.5 square feet of collector space. The commercial line of SCH collectors are available with 65, 88, 110, and 130 square feet of collector space.

All Lochinvar-TiSun solar thermal collectors feature SRCC OG-100 certification and are specifically designed for forced circulation systems.

Smart Just Got Smarter
Lochinvar has enhanced its SMART SYSTEM user interface to provide an even greater level of control than ever before, offering installers and facility managers easier access to all of the information they need to set-up, troubleshoot and monitor all equipment functions. Equipped with several new advanced features, the re-engineered SMART SYSTEM is now standard on all KNIGHT® Residential Heating Boiler models, as well as the KNIGHT® XL Commercial Boiler and the ARMOR® Commercial Water Heater.

A Pre-engineered and fabricated line of variable speed packaged booster systems that provide maximum hydraulic capabilities of 1500 GPM and up to 340 PSI.

All systems are UL rated and fabricated with G&L stainless steel centrifugal pumps with a variety of electrical and mechanical options to choose from.

They feature pump run-out protection, fault detection and alarms relay. Stainless steel piping, isolation valves equate to ANSI/NSF-61 Certification for Potable Drinking Water.

To increase the overall efficiency of a domestic hot water recirculating system and to reduce water wasted while waiting for hot water, the e3 timer can be installed on all e3 pumps. The timer is easily installed by removing the motor end cap, plugging in the timer and setting the timer schedule without any wiring. The timer can be used in 3-different selections: ON, OFF and TIMER. The ON selection operates the pump continuously, the OFF selection turns the pump OFF and the TIMER selection (depicted by a clock on the timer) turns the pump on when programmed.

OUTDOOR RESET REDEFINED – The tekmarNet®2 (tN2) House Control is designed to operate as part of a complete hydronic heating system with tN2 (two wire, communicating) Thermostats. It can provide operation of one or two outdoor reset water temperature in addition to Domestic Hot Water and Setpoint capabilities. It has four built in zones that can operate up to four zone valves or pumps. It is easy to add more zones, add schedules or other convenient accessories through the use of the tekmarNet® expansion terminals.  By integrating indoor feedback, the tN2 House Control takes outdoor reset to the next level, providing greater comfort and efficiency.

Traditional outdoor reset saves energy by adjusting the supply water temperature to match changing outdoor conditions. This allows the system to operate at a reduced temperature for much of the year, anticipating interior load changes before they occur. 

tekmarNet® House Controls take outdoor reset one step further with ‘Indoor Feedback’. tekmarNet® Thermostats communicate with the House Control, allowing it to fine-tune supply water temperatures based on actual interior heat gains or losses. The end result? An integrated HVAC system providing unmatched occupant comfort and unparalleled system efficiency. Now available with inputs ranging from 150,000 to 800,000 Btu/hr, the industry-leading ARMOR is the ideal choice for commercial applications of any size. Offering the same proven design and advanced technology, ARMOR features a stainless steel heat exchanger, 5:1 modulating turndown and Lochinvar’s SMART SYSTEM™ operating control. Designed to be installed with a separate storage tank, ARMOR also eliminates many potential problems encountered with traditional tank-type water heaters.

New Sizes, Same ARMOR Advantages

With its unique design, ARMOR protects against the harmful effects of lime scale buildup, which can cause a traditional heater to fail in as little as two to five years and substantially increase operating costs. Since ARMOR heats the water and then deposits it in an unfired storage tank, lime scale buildup does not impair the heat transfer efficiency. Equipped with a fully modulating 5:1 turndown burner, ARMOR can fire as low as 20 percent of maximum input and, depending on demand, smoothly modulate up to 100 percent. The 5:1 turndown, coupled with up to 98 percent thermal efficiency, allows ARMOR to eliminate wasted fuel and reduce operating costs to an absolute minimum.
